Ko Abbey Toku ingoa.

I am a part of the school’s team and work in Westshore Primary School and run child safety programmes.

I am Napier born and bred, attending both Taradale Intermediate and Taradale High School, and am a mum of two beautiful boys.

I have been a social worker for over nine years. During this time, I have worked at Te Kupenga Hauora in the Family Start team, Oranga Tamariki as both a Youth Justice and Care and Protection social worker and at Family Works as a social worker in schools and as a school’s programme facilitator.

I started my degree as I wanted to support young mothers in the social work space, which I was able to do in my first job as a family start social worker but then wanted to challenge myself in other roles.

I have a passion for supporting and empowering whanau to be the best they can be.
